SPECTOCULAR

2018

design research / UX/UI design

This research was brought on during the UX Design course in Politecnico di Milano.

The request was understanding how to improve the instore glasses retail experience.

This allowed me to apply plenty of design research tools (like personas, user journey maps...) and turning them into insights leading to actual solutions.

Background research

competitors.png

My research started with a deep analysis of the competitors and their offer, in order to understand how they gain competitive advantage.

The ones that are differentiating themselves more offer more services (try-at-home service, customization, in-store medical assistance...)

Survey results

I don't wear glasses, so I had to reach out to people that do. I made a short online survey, including questions about what drew them into a glasses store and which issues they lived there.

Solutions

One of the solutions proposed after the research is SpectOcular, a mobile app aimed at helping users navigate through a huge variety of glasses, while at home, and then easily find them while at the store.
